Lynchburg/Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Review #2

This is the KOA from when we attended the Blue Ridge Rock Fest in September 2019! Located in Monroe, VA on top of the mountain!

I felt like Lucy and Ricky Ricardo...Yes. I grew up watching the show.

First off, let me say this campground was BEAUTIFUL! It was so spacious, full of shade and trees and so quiet/relaxing. There are about 40 sites for RVs and TT's. There are also some cabins if you are interested in that.

Sites are level! Ours was a 50/30 AMP back in gravel lot with fire pit right beside the woods. It was GREAT! We had no one right beside us which we appreciate! The bathhouses we did not use, but I did check them out and they were clean and smelled fresh!

We weren't able to get there until almost 9pm and the owners stayed and waited on us then even took us to our campsite with flashlights! The husband helped us back in since it was totally dark out. They are winners in our book!

The most difficult part surrounding this campground is getting up the steep mountain which takes about 45 minutes . The road was very narrow and windy and with it completely dark makes it more difficult. If traveling to this campground, travel up during the day! Traveling back down the hill was much easier especially during the day time.

Overall, I have no negative comments about this campsite! It is at least 30-45 minutes from towns so make sure to pack appropriately. The KOA store did have essential items if needed! Wifi and cell service was minimal up on the mountain, but that was okay for us. Large dog park that was shaded and clean! The pups loved it.

SCORE OF THIS KOA!

9/10

Cost was $60 a night for our site for weekend rates
